Among patients who complete the full NeuroStar TMS course (typically 36 sessions over 6 weeks), 83% experience meaningful improvement and 62% achieve full remission. Results are typically noticeable by week 3–4, with maximum benefit appearing 2–4 weeks after the final session. Completing the full course — not stopping early — is what gives the best chance of long-lasting relief.
No. NeuroStar TMS is not ECT (electroconvulsive therapy). TMS uses focused magnetic pulses similar in strength to an MRI to revitalize underactive brain regions. You stay awake. There’s no anesthesia, no sedation, no memory effects, and you drive yourself to and from your appointments.
Spravato is the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression. It works on the NMDA receptor — a different system than oral antidepressants — and is administered in our REMS-certified office under medical supervision. Many patients notice changes within the first few weeks rather than the months a new oral antidepressant typically requires.

Yes. We offer weekend appointments for NeuroStar TMS and Spravato treatments — designed for patients who cannot break away from work during the week. Weekend availability is by appointment only; please call (501) 794-6037 or use the booking link to confirm available slots.
Yes. NeuroStar is the only TMS device FDA-cleared to treat adolescents ages 15 and older with major depressive disorder. Best Life Psychiatry is one of the only providers in central Arkansas offering this. Eligibility for adolescents is determined separately during the consultation, with parental involvement.
